The unintended expatriate blogger behind Mariner Pulse Field

Hello, I'm Ana
I work as a project manager, I'm a parent, and I’m an expat living in Madrid, Spain.
A few years back I moved here with my family, and what began as a temporary assignment gradually became a new chapter of life abroad.
How It Started
Relocating to Spain wasn't in the long-term plan. Like many expat moves, it started as a job opportunity and soon grew into something far bigger.
The initial months were demanding — new systems, new routines, new expectations. Everyday tasks seemed more challenging than expected.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, doubt, and a lot of learning by doing. Yet gradually routines settled in. We found places that fit us, connected with other families, and began building something that felt steady.
Why I Built Mariner Pulse Field
Most information online was either corporate relocation guidance or surface-level tourism content. What was missing was an honest, everyday family perspective.
This site aims to fill that gap — practical advice drawn from real life in Spain.
What This Site Does (And Doesn't)
This site is:
- Hands-on experience from life in Spain
- Centered on family life and daily realities
- Updated when something truly changes
This site isn't:
- Not a tourism authority resource
- A sponsored-review platform
- A generic travel diary
Looking Forward
Our time in Spain goes on, and so does the learning journey. As long as the information remains useful, I’ll keep documenting what we discover.
If you have questions about family life in Madrid or anywhere in Spain, please feel free to get in touch.
Best regards,
Ana
